- Increased the Resistance penalties, which are now:
- Normal: -30%
- Nightmare: -80%
- Hell: -140%
- Walking velocity increased to be slightly lower than running speed to encourage blocking, dodging, etc.
- Increased life per level to:
- Barbarian: 6 life per level
- Assassin / Amazon / Paladin: 5 life per level
- Sorceress: 4 life per level
- Necromancer / Druid: 4 life per level
- Increased life per vitality to:
- Barbarian: 20
- Amazon / Assassin / Paladin: 16
- Druid / Necromancer / Sorceress: 8
Monster Changes
- All monsters have increased velocity (movement speed)
- Monster density has been increased in all areas
- All monster life has been increased by 150%
- All monster damage has been increased by 200%
- All monster spells now do more damage
- Blood Moor is more dangerous to the starting adventurer
- Some monsters have a chance on death to use certain spells
- Many of the boss areas have been given greater difficulty
- Lifesteal now works 100% in Normal and Nightmare and 50% in Hell
- Quill Bears appear randomly and drop great gear but give a Fanaticism aura to surrounding monsters
- Don't fight them unless your at a good level for the difficulty you are in
Major Class Changes
- Every class has major changes
Summon (Druid & Necromancer) Level Abilities
- Level 20: +30% Faster Run/Walk & +20 All Resistances, +5% Max Resist, Cannot be Frozen
- Level 25: +20 All Resistances, +25% Damage Reduction, 25% HP, 100 heal-kill, 5% Max Resist
- Level 30: +20-30 All Resistances, +15% Damage Reduction
- Level 35: +50% Poison Resistance, +10% Max Poison Resist, +5% Crushing Blow, +5-10% Lifesteal
- Level 40: +10% Damage Reduction, +10% Max Resist
Note: At level 50, all summons including Valkyrie equip a unique weapon!
Hireling Changes
- All Hirelings have the same stats no matter what difficulty you hire them from
- Act 1 Rogues now have Vigor as an aura (at lvl 18) and use Multi-Shot (at lvl 6), Cold Arrow = Freezing Arrow (at lvl 30), Fire Arrow = Immolation Arrow (at lvl 24)
- Act 2 Mercs now have Feral Rage and Zeal; also, Offensive Merc = low lvl Meditation aura
- Act 3 Mercs now have much better spells and carry the Fanaticism aura:
- Act 5 Barbarians now have Cleansing aura, use Fury, Feral Rage and War Cry
New or Changed Cube Recipes
- Create a socket for non-socketed Unique or Set armor and weapons
- Io + Lum + Ko + Fal + Item = 1 Socket Item
- Create a repair quantity magical javelin from a Normal Javelin
- Normal Javelin + Eld = Magical Javelin with Repair Quantity suffix
Runeword Changes (for a detailed list of effect changes visit this Excel Spreadsheet):
- Infinity & Insight can now be created from any 4 socketed non-magical weapons
- Infinity now has chance on attack of casting Lower Resist instead of the -50% lightning resist
- Amn Rune now gives 4% lifesteal in armor instead of 14 dmg Thorns
- Eld Rune now gives +5 all stats in armor
